Under Moroccan law, motorcycle rental insurance only covers Third-Party Liability. Without additional protection, you remain personally liable for any damage to your rented motorcycle — up to its full market value (€12,000 to €30,000 depending on the model). DERF is our exclusive contractual service that caps this risk at €2,000. Peace of mind, guaranteed.

That is €210 incl. VAT (20% Moroccan VAT). For this amount, your financial exposure in case of a claim drops from up to €30,000 to €2,000 maximum.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is DERF an insurance policy?
No. DERF is not an insurance contract. It is a contractual undertaking through which RENTACS MOTOR waives its right to claim damages beyond €2,000. This legal nature is set out in Article 6.3 of our General Rental Conditions.
When can I subscribe to DERF?
At the time of online booking, or at the latest at the counter when you pick up the motorcycle. Once the rental has begun, DERF can no longer be subscribed retroactively.
Are there any exclusions?
Yes. DERF does not apply in cases of: riding under the influence of alcohol or drugs, riding by an undeclared driver, off-road or competition use, theft without the provided U-lock, or unauthorized border crossing. The complete list is in Article 6.5 of the GRC.
My credit card already offers LDW insurance. Do I still need DERF?
LDW insurance bundled with Visa Gold / Mastercard World+ cards typically requires you to front the cost with the rental company first, then reimburses you on a claim file. Without DERF, you may need to pay up to €30,000 out of pocket and wait several months for reimbursement. DERF eliminates that cash advance and stress.
How is the price calculated?
€25 excl. tax per rental day, multiplied by the number of days. No tiers, no discounts — a transparent flat rate that applies to every motorcycle in our fleet.

DERF (Damage Excess Reduction Fee) is not an insurance contract within the meaning of Moroccan Law No. 17-99 (Insurance Code). It is a unilateral contractual undertaking by RENTACS MOTOR SARL, whereby the company waives any recovery action against the Renter for material damages to the rented vehicle beyond the contractual cap of €2,000, subject to the exclusions set out in Articles 6.3 and 6.5 of the General Rental Conditions.
